In our last class we learned how to use the creative editing websites known as Picnik and Smilebox. My partner Kayla and I presented Picnik to the class. At first I was some what nervous, however once I started to play around on the site myself I found it extremely fun and could not wait to share with my classmates. Picnik allows you to download any picture from your computer and make individual changes to the photo. The good thing about this website is that you do not have to register or become a member to use it. However, if you think you could benefit from this program on a day to day basis, it only costs around $5.00 a month and you can then access the "premium" tools. What I like about the Picnik website is that you can use unique features under Touch Up that include: Blemish fix, wrinkle remover, and instant thin. These are helpful to me because I am usually edit photos of my friends and I to put on facebook..and let's be honest we all want to look our best!
Smilebox allows you to take your photos or videos on your computer, add them to sounds and designs, and then finally create a one of a kind presentation. I like this website because it really brings your experiences back to life thanks to digital animation. This website is also free and you do not have to register to become a user. I really liked the example shown in class which had a video of a classroom science experiment integrated into the digital school newspaper. I had a lot of fun looking through 100s a templates and found the website extremely straight forward and helpful.
